My garden book to be read stack holds greater get, but an element jumped to the beginning of recently the heap (not only because it was a library book and had to be returned on time) Eric was Toensmeier.Es a fascinating look at a category of food plants, we often miss is planted annually while in our fruit trees and bushes, and our kale and tomatoes (both can short-lived perennials with the correct variety and/or climate be) provide.

And now I would like to grow… and not all plants in the book because many factors limit, for example, you are only grown can more tropical as Maryland in climates (including, unfortunately, the Pepino melon but I transplantation to have considerable by mid-May, should be so I hoped maintained), but more as I now growing am.

Why I vegetables grow

Hello!

Welcome to my first ever blog post!I am Donna and I master Gärtner.Ich a Maryland I thought this blogging thing start would from a little to say.

There are many reasons people grow their own vegetables – taste better than the store bought stuff, you are healthier than store bought stuff (did studies been!), to more varieties it is a fun way to outside get and receive, move, is cost-effective. While I certainly all these benefits of growing my own win is the truth that I grow vegetables because of my father.

When I was a little girl, every summer I was always working in our small backyard garden with dad.He taught me how to grow tomatoes, peppers, Zucchini, cucumbers, beans, and others, I am sicher.Dies was at that time just like the things. Everyone had a garden. In fact, I can buy grocery until today courgettes in which because ‘You to grow your own’.

I was 13 years old, my father suddenly elapsed.I remember vaguely tried, then have a garden for a few years, but without him it was no longer a Priorität.Trotzdem, I was busy try to grow – go to College, get married a job, house purchase (not necessarily in this order!). It was when the House was, and I had my own country that I again drawn, growing vegetables. This was just as things, remember.I started small: a tomato in my over there… slowly but surely, each year that replace a expanded, slow my garden ornamental all (inedible) plants, valuable usable space were flower garden, a hill of the courgettes.

As time went on, I was thinking me more and more with my days previously in the garden with father.Today I know some of the best memories which, it was while we outside, were growing Gemüse.Wenn I in my own garden, am I think somehow closer to ihn.Ich am included his memory and grow on its traditions befördern.Ich courgettes on mound er.Ich Verschnüren my tomato plants with strips of old cloth, er.Und if someone asks me why I do these things, I input proud, “” because my father it in this way have.”"
